Greeting from the Head of the Projec
Department of General Medicine, Medical School | Graduate school of Research Medicine, Department of General Medicine (Concurrent Appointment), Professor Toshio Naito

With the development of artificial intelligence (AI), the medical field is also experiencing a significant transformation. However, many healthcare institutions and physicians are currently unable to fully grasp the overall picture and are not making the most of AI's potential due to its rapid evolution. The "Global AGI General Medicine・Infectious Diseases Research・Educational Promotion Project" promoted by Juntendo University will integrate various information in collaboration with many companies, including the University of Electro-Communications and SoftBank Corp., which possess advanced technology, knowledge, and experience related to AI, and will pursue the possibilities of AI in the fields of clinical practice, research, and education. In research, we will focus on studies related to clinical reasoning and diagnostic support, as well as epidemiological analysis and the construction of predictive models for infectious diseases worldwide. Additionally, in order to promote work style reform in medical settings, we will also work towards improving efficiency in clinical practice and operations through the use of AI. In education, starting in 2026, we will hold a curriculum program themed "Medicine and AI". We are preparing to provide a practical educational program where participants can have a comprehensive view of AI in medicine. We look forward to many of you joining us.

Greeting from the project promotion officer
Associate Professor Hirotake Mori, Department of General Medicine, Juntendo University School of Medicine

The effective use of AI has become essential for the advancement of the medical field. At Juntendo University, we will build a platform for healthcare professionals to master AI through the Global AGI General Medicine・Infectious Diseases Research・Educational Promotion Project. We will provide practical information for healthcare professionals who are not specialists in AI. This website is planned to be created and operated as a portal site that gathers various information related to healthcare and AI. Additionally, the curriculum program starting in 2026 will involve creating and providing a comprehensive program that enables healthcare professionals to utilize AI more practically. In terms of research, we have already begun research in clinical reasoning and infectious diseases in collaboration with companies strong in AI. We will particularly focus on reproducing the "reasoning ability" that clinicians possess using AI.
